Terms of Service

Last updated September 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing WiseDep.com, enrolling in WiseDep Coverage, submitting a claim, using WiseDep credentials, or otherwise accessing or using WiseDep services, you agree to these Terms of Service and any additional terms expressly incorporated into them.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not enroll in or use WiseDep services.

2. About WiseDep

WiseDep provides Payment Protection designed to give covered members a defined process for addressing qualifying payment issues involving money paid or money owed.

WiseDep Coverage may be used in connection with qualifying purchases, services, deposits, refunds, invoices, unpaid amounts, and other covered payment matters, subject to these Terms and the applicable WiseDep Program Terms.

WiseDep Payment Protection is not limited to a single payment method. Qualifying payment matters may involve credit cards, debit cards, cash, checks, payment applications, or other supported payment methods.

WiseDep does not ordinarily receive, hold, safeguard, or process the underlying transaction between the parties. Members may continue paying and receiving money through their normal payment methods.

Businesses added to WiseDep Coverage may also receive WiseDep Verified credentials and related business materials.

3. Definitions

For purposes of these Terms:

“Coverage” or “WiseDep Coverage” means access to the applicable WiseDep Payment Protection program while the applicable subscription is active and in good standing.

“Covered Member” means an individual or business holding active WiseDep Coverage.

“Claim” means a request submitted to WiseDep concerning a qualifying payment matter.

“Payment Matter” means a transaction, amount paid, amount owed, refund, deposit, invoice, purchase, service payment, or other payment-related matter submitted for consideration under the Program.

“Program” means the WiseDep Payment Protection program, including applicable claim review, determination, funds-return, and resolution procedures.

“Program Terms” means any additional rules, requirements, eligibility conditions, exclusions, claim procedures, or other terms applicable to WiseDep Payment Protection.

“WiseDep Verified” means an authorized WiseDep credential or status issued in connection with qualifying business coverage.

4. WiseDep Coverage

Active WiseDep Coverage provides access to the WiseDep Payment Protection process for qualifying payment matters arising during the applicable coverage period.

Coverage may apply to money a Covered Member has paid or money a Covered Member is owed, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.

Coverage does not require the underlying transaction to occur through WiseDep or through a particular bank, card network, processor, or payment application.

Eligibility for a claim is determined under these Terms and the applicable Program Terms based on the circumstances of the payment matter, coverage status, timing, documentation, and other applicable requirements.

5. Enrollment and Activation

To obtain WiseDep Coverage, you must complete the required enrollment process, provide accurate information, complete checkout, and successfully activate a paid subscription.

Submitting enrollment information, creating a pending enrollment, or beginning checkout does not by itself activate Coverage.

Coverage becomes active only after the applicable payment has been successfully completed and WiseDep has activated the enrollment.

Individuals may enroll using their personal information.

An enrollee may elect to add a business to WiseDep Coverage by providing the requested business information and accepting the applicable business coverage price before checkout.

WiseDep may issue active Covered Members a unique Verification ID, Coverage Certificate, coverage status, or other applicable credentials.

When a business is added to Coverage, WiseDep may additionally issue WiseDep Verified badges, digital assets, certificates, or other authorized business credentials.

6. Coverage Fees, Billing and Automatic Renewal

Standard WiseDep Coverage is currently offered at $9 per month.

When a business is added to WiseDep Coverage during enrollment, the applicable coverage price is currently $19 per month.

The recurring price displayed and accepted during checkout governs the subscription purchased.

WiseDep Coverage automatically renews at the applicable billing interval until canceled.

By purchasing Coverage, you authorize WiseDep and its designated payment provider to charge the payment method provided for recurring Coverage fees, applicable taxes, and other amounts you expressly authorize.

WiseDep may change pricing for future purchases or renewals subject to applicable law and any notice requirements.

You may cancel Coverage using the cancellation method made available by WiseDep. Unless otherwise required by law, cancellation prevents future recurring charges but does not automatically refund amounts previously paid.

Coverage ordinarily remains active through the applicable paid period unless suspended or terminated earlier under these Terms.

Failed, reversed, disputed, or otherwise unsuccessful subscription payments may result in suspension or termination of Coverage.

7. Qualifying Payment Matters

Qualifying payment matters may include:

  • Purchases
  • Services
  • Deposits
  • Refunds
  • Invoices
  • Money owed
  • Amounts paid for goods or services
  • Other qualifying payment issues

A payment matter is not necessarily excluded solely because a particular payment method was used.

Coverage applies only to qualifying matters satisfying the requirements in effect under these Terms and the Program Terms.

WiseDep may consider when the underlying payment matter arose, when Coverage became active, whether Coverage remained active as required, the information submitted, the nature of the transaction, prior recoveries, applicable exclusions, and other circumstances reasonably relevant to eligibility.

Coverage does not retroactively apply merely because an individual or business later obtains WiseDep Coverage.

8. Payment Methods and Third-Party Services

WiseDep Payment Protection is designed to operate independently of the payment method used for the underlying transaction.

Supported payment matters may involve cards, cash, checks, payment applications, electronic transfers, or other supported methods.

WiseDep does not require Covered Members to replace their existing bank, card, processor, payment application, invoicing system, or other payment method.

Use of a particular third-party payment service remains subject to that provider's own terms, rules, procedures, and protections.

The ability to submit a WiseDep claim involving a payment made through a particular financial institution, card network, processor, or payment application does not establish sponsorship, partnership, affiliation, or endorsement between WiseDep and that provider.

9. Filing a Claim

A Covered Member experiencing a qualifying payment issue may submit a claim using the claim method designated by WiseDep.

Claimants must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information.

WiseDep may request information reasonably necessary to evaluate and process a claim, including:

  • Proof of payment or evidence of an amount owed
  • Receipts
  • Invoices
  • Contracts
  • Estimates or proposals
  • Transaction records
  • Screenshots
  • Photographs
  • Written communications
  • Information concerning goods or services involved
  • Information concerning refunds, cancellation, nonpayment, nondelivery, nonperformance, or other circumstances relevant to the claim
  • Other documentation reasonably necessary to evaluate the matter

Submission of a claim does not by itself constitute approval.

10. Claim Review and Determination

WiseDep reviews claims based on the information available, applicable Program Terms, and circumstances of the payment matter.

WiseDep may request additional information or documentation where reasonably necessary to complete its review.

WiseDep may consider transaction records, agreements, communications, documentation, payment information, prior refunds or recoveries, and other relevant information.

Following review, WiseDep determines the claim outcome under the applicable Program Terms.

When a claim is approved, WiseDep initiates the applicable funds-return and resolution process.

WiseDep may establish reasonable deadlines for providing requested information or completing steps necessary to administer a claim.

Failure to provide reasonably requested information may delay, suspend, or prevent further processing of the claim.

11. Fraud, Duplicate Recovery and Program Abuse

WiseDep may investigate, decline, suspend, close, or otherwise restrict a claim or Coverage where WiseDep reasonably identifies evidence of:

  • Fraud or suspected fraud
  • Collusion
  • Material misrepresentation
  • Knowingly false information
  • Altered or false documentation
  • Program abuse
  • Duplicate claims
  • Attempts at duplicate recovery
  • Material omission of relevant information
  • Failure to provide reasonably requested documentation
  • Other conduct inconsistent with these Terms or the Program Terms

A Covered Member may not knowingly recover more than the amount legitimately at issue.

WiseDep may consider chargebacks, refunds, card disputes, processor decisions, settlements, judgments, repayments, credits, or other recoveries when determining whether an amount remains subject to the Program.

WiseDep may take reasonable measures to protect the integrity of its claims process.

12. Business Coverage and WiseDep Verified

A Covered Member may add a business to WiseDep Coverage where that option is available.

Businesses with active applicable Coverage may receive WiseDep Verified credentials, certificates, Verification IDs, badges, digital assets, or other authorized materials.

WiseDep Verified status indicates applicable active status within the WiseDep program.

Businesses remain responsible for their own products, services, agreements, representations, legal obligations, licenses, registrations, permits, insurance, bonds, and other requirements applicable to their operations.

WiseDep Verified status does not transfer a business's contractual or legal obligations to WiseDep.

13. Certificates, Verification IDs and WiseDep Marks

“WiseDep,” “WiseDep Verified,” WiseDep logos, certificates, badges, Verification IDs, digital assets, and related materials are owned by or licensed to WiseDep.

Active Covered Members may receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use authorized WiseDep materials for their intended purpose.

Personal Coverage Certificates may identify the individual holding Coverage.

Where a business has been added to Coverage, the applicable certificate or credential may identify the business.

A certificate, Verification ID, badge, or other credential evidences the applicable WiseDep status associated with it but does not independently modify or expand the rights provided under these Terms or the Program Terms.

WiseDep credentials may not be counterfeited, falsified, materially altered, transferred, sold, sublicensed, or displayed in a misleading manner.

Authorization to display credentials may end when applicable Coverage expires, terminates, is suspended, or is revoked.

14. Covered Member Responsibilities

Covered Members agree to:

  • Provide accurate enrollment information
  • Maintain reasonably current contact information
  • Provide truthful claim information
  • Submit authentic supporting documentation
  • Use WiseDep services only for lawful purposes
  • Comply with applicable Program Terms
  • Cooperate reasonably with legitimate claim requirements
  • Refrain from abusing the claims process
  • Refrain from misrepresenting the nature or scope of WiseDep Coverage
  • Comply with these Terms

Businesses using WiseDep Verified materials must additionally use those materials accurately and only while authorized to do so.

15. Suspension, Cancellation and Termination

WiseDep may suspend, restrict, or terminate Coverage, credentials, access, or participation where reasonably necessary because of:

  • Nonpayment or failed subscription payments
  • Fraud or suspected fraud
  • Materially inaccurate enrollment information
  • Misuse of WiseDep credentials
  • Program abuse
  • Material violation of these Terms or Program Terms
  • Failure to cooperate with legitimate claim requirements
  • Unlawful conduct
  • Conduct creating material legal, financial, security, operational, or reputational risk to WiseDep or Program participants

Cancellation generally prevents future renewal of Coverage.

Suspension or termination may affect eligibility for payment matters occurring after Coverage ceases to be active.

Suspension, cancellation, or termination does not automatically eliminate obligations or matters that arose while Coverage was active where the applicable Program Terms provide otherwise.

16. Service Availability and Program Changes

WiseDep may modify, improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue features, procedures, technologies, credentials, or other aspects of the service from time to time.

WiseDep does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of WiseDep.com or related technology.

WiseDep may modify administrative processes, documentation requirements, supported features, or claim procedures where reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, or comply with legal requirements applicable to the Program.

Material changes affecting existing Coverage or qualifying payment matters will be handled subject to applicable law and any commitments already applicable to those matters.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WISEDEP SERVICES, WEBSITE FEATURES, CREDENTIALS, AND RELATED MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

EXCEPT FOR EXPRESS OBLIGATIONS STATED IN THESE TERMS OR APPLICABLE PROGRAM TERMS, WISEDEP DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WiseDep does not warrant that its website, claim systems, communications, or other technology will operate without interruption, delay, error, or security incident.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

18. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WISEDEP WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, DATA, OPPORTUNITY, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO WISEDEP SERVICES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WISEDEP'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO A COVERED MEMBER'S PAID USE OF WISEDEP SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE COVERAGE FEES PAID TO WISEDEP BY THAT COVERED MEMBER DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

This limitation does not limit liability where applicable law prohibits such limitation or eliminate any express obligation WiseDep has undertaken under these Terms concerning funds actually received or recovered by WiseDep for purposes of an applicable claim.

19. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, users and Covered Members agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WiseDep and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from or relating to their:

  • Fraud or unlawful conduct
  • Material violation of these Terms
  • Knowingly false representations
  • Submission of fraudulent claims or documentation
  • Misuse of WiseDep credentials
  • Infringement or unauthorized use of WiseDep intellectual property

Where applicable, a business may additionally be responsible for third-party claims arising from its products, services, work, customer agreements, representations, or conduct.

This section applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

20. Intellectual Property

Except for content owned by users or third parties, WiseDep.com, the WiseDep name, logos, marks, certificates, credentials, Program materials, website content, designs, software, and related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to WiseDep and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

No rights are granted except those expressly provided under these Terms.

21. Electronic Communications

By using WiseDep services, you consent to receive transactional and administrative electronic communications relating to Coverage, billing, payments, Verification IDs, certificates, claims, security, account activity, and material service changes.

Electronic communications may be delivered using the contact information provided during enrollment or subsequently supplied to WiseDep.

Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable law and available opt-out rights.

22. Nature of Claim Resolution and Financial Obligations

WiseDep administers claims, determinations, funds-return procedures, and resolution activities in accordance with these Terms and the applicable Program Terms.

Approval of a claim authorizes WiseDep to initiate and administer the applicable funds-return and resolution procedures available under the Program.

The approval of a claim does not, standing alone, constitute an unconditional obligation of WiseDep to satisfy the claimed amount from WiseDep's own assets. The availability, method, timing, and amount of any recovery or return of funds are determined in accordance with these Terms, the Program Terms, applicable recovery mechanisms, and the circumstances of the claim.

WiseDep may undertake reasonable resolution and recovery measures available in connection with an approved claim and may administer funds obtained for purposes of resolving that claim in accordance with the applicable determination and Program procedures.

Neither claim submission nor claim approval guarantees successful recovery, a particular resolution, a particular recovery amount, or completion within a particular period unless WiseDep expressly undertakes such an obligation in writing.

WiseDep will administer applicable Program procedures in good faith and in accordance with these Terms.

23. Nature of WiseDep Services

WiseDep is not a bank, insurance company, insurer, escrow agent, lender, payment processor, law firm, or government agency.

WiseDep Coverage and WiseDep Verified status do not constitute a government license, bond, insurance policy, escrow arrangement, or representation that WiseDep has independently investigated every person, business, transaction, employee, product, service, statement, or practice associated with a Covered Member.

Nothing in these Terms creates a fiduciary relationship between WiseDep and a Covered Member except to the extent such a relationship cannot lawfully be disclaimed under circumstances specifically giving rise to one.

24. Changes to These Terms

WiseDep may update these Terms from time to time.

Updated Terms will be posted on WiseDep.com with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Where required by applicable law or reasonably appropriate because of a material change, WiseDep may provide additional notice.

Changes will not retroactively eliminate rights already applicable to a qualifying payment matter except where permitted by applicable law.

Continued use of WiseDep after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.

25. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

Any dispute relating to these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction and venue required or permitted under applicable law.

26. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

27. No Waiver

Failure by WiseDep to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of WiseDep's right to enforce that provision or any other provision later.

Any waiver must be expressly authorized by WiseDep to be effective.

28. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the applicable Program Terms, Privacy Policy, any additional terms expressly incorporated by reference, and applicable disclosures presented and accepted in connection with WiseDep Coverage, constitute the agreement governing use of WiseDep services.

If an additional applicable Program Term expressly conflicts with a general provision of these Terms concerning a specific Program feature or claim, the more specific applicable provision will govern that matter to the extent of the conflict.
